Write your first task
Create a small, concrete task so you can watch the workflow end to end before scaling up.
Start small
Your first task should be easy to understand and easy to verify. Avoid broad or multi-part work for the first run.
Describe the outcome
State what success looks like, not just the topic. A good task gives the agent a clear finish line and a reviewer something concrete to check.
Run it from the main workspace
Create the task in the dashboard and watch it move through the normal flow. The goal is to validate the runtime, the agent, and the task format together.
Example first tasks
- Summarize a short document
- Draft a checklist from a brief
- Review a small change and report findings
What to avoid first
- Multi-day research tasks
- Tasks with unclear success criteria
- Flows that require several agents before you have proven one works
Optional fields worth using
- Priority: helpful when you want the queue to reflect urgency
- Required expertise: helps route the task to the right kind of agent
- Attachments: useful for source material, briefs, or example files
- Requires human sign-off: useful when you want a person to approve the result before it is treated as complete
